A visibly-angry couple have been arrested for burning the manhood of a 17 year old boy following an allegation that the boy raped their 4 year old daughter.
The Commandant of the Corps, Babangida Abdullahi, confirmed the arrest in an interview with journalists in Sokoto on Wednesday.
The Commandant pointed out that the couple, were arrested on Tuesday, at their Sama residence, Sokoto.
According to him, “They alleged that the teenager, a Senior Secondary School three students, raped their four-year old daughter.
“So, they sponsored some boys who seized him on March 24, took him to the suspects’ house, the suspects severely tortured him and burnt his manhood.
“The victim was later taken to the Specialist Hospital, Sokoto, where he is responding to treatment.”
According to Abdullahi, the couple was arrested yesterday for allegedly taking the law into their hands.
The commandant further explained that the suspects would soon be arraigned in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The Father of the victim, Abdullahi Ibrahim, a teacher at Sultan Bello Secondary School, Sokoto, called on the state government to assist the family in seeking justice for his son.
He also appealed to the Sultanate Council of Sokoto, local and international human rights groups, among others to intervene.

A delivery man with an online marketing store, Jumia, Mr. Chukwuma Eleje, has been
killed in a house on Ada George Road, Port Harcourt, Rivers State.
The victim was said to be delivering two iPhones to some customers, who had ordered for them through the Internet on Saturday, when he was attacked and killed.
The assailants were reported to have dumped his remains in a septic tank in a desperate attempt to cover up the crime.
The officials were reported to have swooped on the suspects in their apartment on Monday.
The state police spokesperson, DSP Nnamdi Omoni, who confirmed the incident, said the suspects – Sodienye Mbatumukeke, Excel Naabe, and Joy Eluwa – upon their arrest, confessed to the crime.
Eluwa was said to be Mbatumukeke’s girlfriend.
He said,
“Operatives of SARS, acting on credible intelligence on Monday, at about 3am arrested three suspects– two males and a female– identified as Sodienye Mbatumukeke, Excel Divine Naabe, and Joy Eluwa.Omoni added that the state Commissioner of Police, Zaki Ahmed, who led other senior police officers to the scene, appealed to members of the public to always share information with the police.The two prime suspects, however, passed the bulk to each other.
“These armed robbers ordered smartphones from a certain courier company in Rivers State. Then the company sent the phones through a dispatch rider. On getting there, the hoodlums beat up the dispatch rider and later shot him; he died inside their flat.
“After killing him, they threw his corpse into a septic tank. Our men, who were acting on credible intelligence, arrested the suspects and they showed us where they hid the corpse.”
Naabe, who claimed to be on a visit, said he saw Mbatumukeke pushing the deceased into the septic tank.
He said,
“On my way to this place, I saw him (Mbatumukeke); he was packaging something like a black waste bin. He was saying I should just go inside and chill out. He said he would soon join me in the room.The second suspect, Mbatumukeke, claimed that Naabe killed the victim, adding that he hit the courier man with an iron on the head.
“I overheard some neighbours asking him what he was doing close to the septic tank and he gave them an excuse. I went inside and saw bloodstains in the bathroom.
“When I queried him, he brought out a gun and pointed it at me, saying if I uttered a word about what I saw, he would kill all my family members.”
“He hit him with iron on the head and blood was gushing out. I was afraid; I was vibrating. I didn’t know what to do. God is my witness,” he added.When one of Punch’s correspondents visited the scene on Tuesday, he observed that the house was deserted.
It was gathered that most of the tenants in the building began to leave the house after policemen recovered the corpse.
An official of Jumia, Mr. Naze Paul, told PUNCH Metro in a telephone chat that the throat of the victim was slit.
Paul, who works at the Customer Care Section of Jumia in Port Harcourt, described the late Eleje as a good worker.
He said, “Instead of them to say they don’t have money for the items, they cornered and killed him.Punch
“I believe they are cult members. Now, before we deliver goods we will get money first.
“If we don’t get paid first, we will not deliver. What caused this nonsense is that we deliver before getting paid. The agent they killed was a good worker.”

Herdsmen invade Prison Farm Centre in Benue, kill inmate .

The
Benue Prisons Service on Monday confirmed that herdsmen invaded its
Jato-Aka Farm Centre and killed an inmate, one Tersoo Agidi. ASP Stephen
Nwanchor, Public Relations Officer, Benue Prisons Service, said the
incident took place on Saturday at the farm centre. .

Nwanchor
said that the invasion was not a failed jail break attempt. “This is a
new farm centre established in January, 2017. The herdsmen invaded the
place, destroyed property, shot and killed one Tersoo Agidi, an inmate.

We
have evacuated all the remaining inmates from the farm centre to Gboko,
pending the outcome of the investigation. We are not taking anything

23-year-old man arrested for beheading 72-year-old woman over land dispute

Ikugbayigbe was arrested by the police in Ogun State for allegedly
beheading a 72-year-old woman, Funmilayo Shada. The police spokesperson
in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, said the suspect committed the crime in
Abigi community of the state. .

He said the suspect was arrested
following a report at the police headquarters in the area by the son
of the woman, Ekundayo Shada. Mr. Shada had told the police that he was
on his way to the farm to see his mother on March 17 when he ran into
the suspect holding a polythene bag. .

He said the suspect on
sighting him, dropped the polythene bag and took to his heels, a
development which he said caused him curiosity. He said he ran to the

months imprisonment for insulting and defaming the character of Gov.

The Police
Prosecutor, Insp. Isa Liti, earlier told the court that Saeed was
arraigned following complaints received from Mr Mansur Ali Mashi, Senior
Special Assistant (SSA), to the Governor on Radio Monitoring. .

“Mashi
said the accused person abused Masari and called him names on social
media. He said the accused person posted on the media that it was Gov.
Masari who influenced the impeachment of Speaker of Katsina State House
of Assembly, Aliyu Muduru.’’

Liti said police arrested the
accused person and arraigned him for intentional insult, defamation of
the governor’s character and inciting disturbance. The charges were in
accordance with sections 399, 392 and 114 of the Penal Code. .

He
also explained that the accused person confessed to have committed the
offences. Delivering the judgment on Monday in Katsina, Chief Magistrate
Abdu Ladan, said the court has found the accused person guilty of the
said offences; each charge attracts three years imprisonment. .

14-year old Ghanaian girl who was defiled by five men at Nkawkaw in the
Eastern Region, says she has been contemplating suicide for some time

The traumatised girl dropped out
of school at Class 4, after her ordeal, and says she is being haunted by
the dastardly incident which has left her with life-threatening
complications. .

Her revelations come as the Nkawkaw police
arrest a third suspect, Awudu Kamiru, an 18-year-old head porter. The
victim was strangled by her attackers in an attempt to murder her after
having sexual intercourse with her in turns. .

The attackers
confessed that the plan was to conceal their illegal act and avoid a
possible arrest. But a Good Samaritan who found her in an unconscious
state in the Trado stream, saved her life. .

That act has since
left her with walking difficulties whilst she bleeds profusely from her

N19bn Paris Club scam: EFCC writes Buhari, indicts Saraki, aides for laundering over N3.5bn

EFCC has furnished Pres. Buhari with details of how the President of
the Nigerian Senate, Bukola Saraki, and his aides allegedly laundered up
to N3.5 billion from the Paris Club loan refund.

The
report, compiled by detectives in the anti-graft agency, followed months
of investigation, and was submitted to the president on March 10, 2017.

In
the report, the EFCC narrated how Mr. Saraki, using his deputy chief of
staff and other aides, laundered N3.5bn that he allegedly received from
the Paris Club loan refund to state governors. .

The manner the
Paris Club loan refund was spent by public officials has been a subject
of nationwide controversy for several weeks, with EFCC hinting at some
point that an investigation was underway. .

In its report to the
president, the EFCC detailed how Mr. Saraki, in 2016, introduced Gbenga
Makanjuola, a former lawmaker who now serves as his deputy chief of
staff, to Kathleen Erhimu, an Access Bank staff. .

The EFCC
identified Ms. Erhimu as Mr. Saraki’s relationship manager at Access
Bank. Mr. Makanjuola would later work with Robert Mbonu, a former M.D of
Heritage Bank, whose firm, Melrose General Services Limited, was said
to have served as consultant to the Nigerian Governors’ Forum.

The
EFCC informed Pres. Buhari that Mr. Mbonu received N3.5bn in
mid-December 2016, part of which was later transferred to accounts and
persons linked to the senate president.

“A prima facie case
of conspiracy to retain the proceeds of unlawful activities and money
laundering, can be established against the aforementioned suspects,” the
EFCC told Mr. Buhari in the report. “Additionally, investigation into
their personal accounts is ongoing.”
“Expel students with less than 0.5 CGPA,” — Buhari orders VCs
President Muhammadu Buhari yesterday gave vice chancellors a marching order to expel students with less than 0.5 Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) from next academic session.
Such students, he said, are unserious elements that should not be accommodated any longer in higher institutions.
The President also cautioned governing councils and managements universities against muzzle-flexing and ego-tripping, which he said had thrown affected universities into avoidable crises.
Buhari spoke at the 31st convocation of the University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT).
This, he noted, led to the recent setting up of a committee to renegotiate the contentious agreement.
Buhari, who was represented by the Minister of State for Education, Prof. Anthony Onwuka, told vice-chancellors and their managements to practise transparency, accountability, fairness and ensure discipline.
He said: “We must stop to continue housing adventurers, who have no business remaining in the universities beyond the time specified for their studies in the universities.
“In that wise, it is being proposed that at the end of this academic year, any student with less than 0.5 CGPA should cease to be a student of the university and should be shown the way out.
“The universities must continue to have people who are serious in what they have come to do.
“If you have less than 0.5 in your CGPA, you are out. You are out for good so that the space will be left for those who have come to do serious business.
On governing council, he charged them to avoid ”unnecessary muzzle-flexing and ego-tripping that throw affected universities into avoidable crises.
“They must look after the welfare of staff and students and ensure proper development of their universities.
On the contentious 2009 agreement with ASUU, Buhari pleaded with the lecturers to give peace a chance, by coming to the negotiation table in the best interest of higher education.
He reassured ASUU and other unions that government was committed to quality education in the universities and other layers of the education sector, including the welfare of staff in the system.

death of the most dreaded, vicious and deadly notorious robber and
kidnap kingpin, Henry Onyekachi Chibueze, a.k.a Vampire, his distraught
mother has described him as an evil child, who had always acted like
someone possessed by Agwu (Evil spirit), Daily Sun reports.
It
will be recalled that the deadly criminal otherwise known as Vampire
was gunned down on March 2, at Umuowa bush in Ikwerre LGA of Rivers
State by a combined Inspector General of Police Special Response Team
from the Rivers State Police Command and Imo State Police Command.
Before he acquired national and international notoriety, he had
committed his first murder when he was just 12 years old during a fight
with his fellow pupil, while still in primary five at Umuokpu Community
Primary School.
It was learnt that he ended his formal education in primary five
after the murder incident for which his late father had to pay
compensation to the family of the victim. After dropping out of school,
he refused to learn any trade, but rather joined some undesirable
elements called hunters from the neighboring community who smoked
marijuana and engaged in stealing people’s goats and fowls, which they
either sold or killed and ate. It was also gathered that Vampire later
started a commercial motorcycle business on a hire purchase basis,
operating around Isu and Anara in Isiala Mbano mostly at night,
returning to the village in the early hours of the morning.
His mother, Mrs Beatrice Chibueze who spoke to Saturday Sun in their village, said Vampire was an evil child as all efforts by his late father to ensure that he became a responsible person proved abortive.
“Henry Onyekachi Chibueze was born in 1981. My late husband had enrolled him at the Community School Umuokpu in Abaja, but he had to drop out at primary five after he killed his classmate during a fight at school and he was just 12 years old . That incident caused the family a lot of problem and my late husband had to pay compensation to the family of the boy before the matter was resolved. Henry had always acted like somebody who was possessed by Agwu (Evil spirit) and at a time the family had thought of making a sacrifice to the gods of the land to see if that could make him act responsibly”, she revealed.
According to her, “when he dropped out from primary school he refused to learn any vocational skill, but had instead joined some bad boys in the community where he started this armed robbery and kidnapping. Even though our family is a polygamous one, my late husband had ensured that all his children were educated, but it was only my son who refused to be useful like his other brothers and sisters. In fact, it was the disgrace and shame brought to the family that led to the death of my late husband, who developed hypertension and died eventually.”
Mrs. Chibueze further disclosed that at the height of Vampire’s criminal exploits, members of the family including herself ran away from the village because he was prepared to kill anybody and that before he was arrested in 2015, he had destroyed the roof of his father’s house when he visited the village.
She, however, has an appeal to the police to release the two children of the late Vampire: Masters Onyekachi Chibueze and Ezinne Chibuzo Chibueze who had been in the custody of the police since, adding that the kids were innocent of the crimes their father committed.
Step mum reacts
Also speaking with Saturday Sun, Vampire’s stepmother Mrs. Francisca Chibueze, disclosed that he was too strong headed even as a child and did whatever he wanted regardless of what anybody said. She said that the late father who was a respected man in the community did everything within his powers to ensure that he was useful to himself ,but to no avail.
Onyekachi was a very stubborn child, he was always fighting in the community and he was the only child in the family who had refused to go to school or to even learn a trade and my late husband who was his father had done everything to ensure that he was useful to himself, but that failed . It was his criminal activities that led to his father developing high blood pressure that led to his death two years ago. “I had myself advised him severally to emulate his other brothers and sisters who are the pride of the family, while he was still younger before he became a big criminal and brought disgrace to the entire family and community”
Community, youth leaders express relief
Speaking in the same vein, the chairman of the community, Mr. Obilo John, said that the death of Vampire was a great relief to the people of the community as he did not only bring the name of his family but that of the entire community to shame and disrepute.
The community leader said that Vampire was a bloodthirsty person as he had also killed one of his best friends who was popularly known as MC General of Abaja over a minor misunderstanding before he acquired the unenviable status of a notorious kidnapper.
“The eventual death of this boy who calls himself Vampire is a big relief to the community as every body is happy because of the bad name and disgrace his criminal activities brought to the community. Before the Police killed him, whenever he came to the village, people of the community would flee because he could kill at the slightest provocation. Henry had killed one of his best friends who was popularly known MC General and he had even killed his fellow pupil during a fight, while he was just 12 years old. I think that the boy must be possessed, because for him to have killed the number of people he had killed means that he was not a normal human being.
“The entire community now has resolved that henceforth any of its sons who is discovered to be delinquent would be dealt with immediately as the community does not want another Vampire who had destroyed the image of the community. We have also decided that any stranger who comes to the community will be monitored as well as who the stranger had come to see”
Also, one of the youth leaders in the community, Michael Ibekwe, said that the people of the community were made a laughing stock because of the criminal activities of Vampire, as they were often referred to as community of criminals.
“We are happy that he was killed, because people of this community were being described as criminals as a result of Vampire and we have also decided that anybody who tries to emulate bad behaviour of Vampire would be severely dealt with because the good name of the community was damaged severely, and it would take several years to repair, just because of the activities of one misguided person who thought that the only way to make money is by kidnapping, armed robbery and killing his victims”

Folks: It was brought to my attention earlier that Nigerian Senator Dino Melaye promised to 'send me to jail' over the recent unraveling of his questionable educational background. While some are worried, appalled, alarmed and concerned and even scared about this declaration, it had me thinking differently. I am a Nigerian citizen who had been through torture, humiliations, and incarceration by dictators in uniform between 1992-1999 before I eventually left Nigeria.
I have never doubted the power of justice over legalities. That a Nigerian Senator in a democratic era could make this proclamation is indeed a sign that our democratic transition was a farce, particular when you've now noticed that Mr. Melaye was sitting at the feet of one of Nigeria's worst military dictators, Ibrahim Babangida just a week ago.
One of Babangida's worst crimes against humanity was the assassination of notable investigative journalists of our time, Dele Giwa, by way of a parcel bomb. Another thing Melaye shares in common with Babangida and his killer squad was using libel lawsuits to silence inquisitions.
In the 80's Gani Fawehimi was found liable of libeling the killers of Dele Giwa and asked to pay damages to Halilu Akilu.
Here is how I am different and also not different, I am not going to run away from criminals running the Nigerian political space until they are defeated, and their ideologies of greed, bloodiness, and avarice are entirely abandoned and discredited forever (Apology to Bob Marley).
If it takes my life, so be it. If it means another unjust ruling asking for damages for thieves. So be it. We must take our space back from the 10 percenters, drug dealers, certificate forgers, money launderers, political manipulators, and assassins.

I have reported to the whole world that I was briefed by my constituents residing across Ethiope East Mainland; towns/villages and Ethiope East Hinterlands; Ovre-Eku/Abraka/Igun of the sighting by some of them of an unspecified Helicopter said to be dropping supplies in the same Ovre-Eku/Abraka axis.
Since after my receipt of that brief, five of my Constituents namely Mr. Philip Akpine, Mr.Francis Okotie, Mr. Sunday Couple, Mr. Eyabigun Akpovena and Mr. Sunday Idama have all been slaughtered by this mercenaries; Fulani Herdsmen in their farmlands in Ovre-Abraka which is a safe haven, dwelling and business place for thousands of Fulani Herdsmen and their cattle.
My people are helplessly susceptible, defenceless and vulnerable to this menace. The Herdsmen escapade and atrocities against my exposed constituents includes killing and Kidnapping them, maiming, raping and attacking them.
I wish to appeal to the security agencies to visit the "Ethiope East Sambisa Forest" and properly investigate the activities of the criminal elements of the herdsmen and bring them to justice.
