Pastor whose pregnant wife was murdered in their home remarries just 2 years later
A pastor whose pregnant wife was killed in November 2015 during a home invasion robbery has remarried.
Pastor Davey Blackburn, of Indianapolis, announced his new marriage on Facebook on Monday. He made the announcement with a simple bible verse and a picture from his wedding day.
He wrote: "Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert. - Isaiah? ?43:19?."
In November, Blackburn announced his engagement on the two-year anniversary of the day his wife was killed and this didn't go down well with some people who felt he could have chosen a more appropriate time.
Blackburn’s late wife, Amanda, (pictured above) was shot in the head during an attempted burglary when three men entered the family’s home through a door Blackburn left open when he left for work.
Amanda, who was 12 weeks pregnant, was home alone with the couple's then 15-month-old son, Weston at the time. Waston was not harmed. Later, Jalen Watson, 21, Larry Taylor, 18 and Diano Gordon, 24, were arrested and charged with Amanda Blackburn's murder.
Blackburn's engagement to Kristi Monroy was announced on his blog. He said he first spotted Monroy at this church. In the blog post entitled, "I just popped the question… & she said yes!" Blackburn documents his story of grief after Amanda's death, to meeting his now-wife.
He wrote: "I realize for many people this may seem a bit soon and trust me, it did to me as well."
In August, Blackburn and his new woman Monroy spent a week with his family and a week with his late wife Amanda's family. Blackburn popped the question to Monroy on Nov. 8.
Blackburn said his late wife's dad had given him advice about his relationship.
"Davey, take it slow until you know she's the right one. Once you know, go fast, and we'll be right there with you."
People are now suspecting he may have had a hand in his wife's murder...
4 boys gang rape a JSS2 female student in Ghana and they film it and share online
A viral video capturing the moment four teenage boys gang-raped a girl in Ghana has sparked outrage on social media.
The boys overpowered the girl on the floor and took turns to rape her as she struggled for freedom. In the video, which is really painful to watch, one of the boys can be seen sitting by the girl's head, with his hands around her neck to keep her in place even as she struggled. As he did this, another naked boy is seen removing the girl's underwear after which he parted her legs and tried to penetrate her.
At the point, the girl cries and struggles harder, even closing her legs tighter to prevent the boy from going ahead with his evil intentions. The other boys are heard laughing as the girl struggles, and the boy holding her struggles even more to subdue her. Eventually, the naked boy had his way with the girl, after which he gave way for his friends to do same. The video which lasted a little over two minutes is believed to have been recorded by one of the boys.
The incident reportedly happened in Kumasi the capital of Ashanti Region of Ghana and the rapists are reported to be speaking the Twi language. Concerned people have called on the Ghanaian police to investigate the incident right away and ensure the culprits are brought to book.
In a press release by the police, they acknowledged intercepting "a video of what appears to be a gang rape involving a young lady and at least five men."
"In view of the serious nature of the act, as shown in the video, a special investigation team has been constituted at the CID Headquarters to analyse the video with the aim of identifying those involved and arrested for the necessary legal processes to be activated," they said.
They appealed to individuals with any information that will lead to the arrest of those involved to get in touch with their Cyber Crime unit of the CID Headquarters.
The Police also pleaded with media houses and individuals with the video to stop sharing it since it is an offence to circulate obscene material. For this reason, this video will not be shared on this blog.
3 arrested over viral gang-rape video filmed in Ghana
Police in the Ashanti Region have arrested three young men believed to have taken part in an alleged gang rape of a teenage girl, a video of which has gone viral on social media.
The police were alerted to the assault after the video began circulating on social media with the young men taking turns to rape the teenager. A source says about 7 men forcibly had sex with the girl but only 4 were seen in the video. Three of the men whose faces showed in the video have been identified and arrested.
The Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) of the Ashanti Regional Police Command has invited the teenage victim to assist in investigations. The victim was reportedly also taken to the Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital for medical examination. The incident occurred at Bantama in Kumasi.
Speaking to Citi News, Assembly Member for the Bantama Electoral area, Kwame Ofori, asked the Police to bring the culprits to book in order to serve as a deterrent to others.
"It is true that the incident occurred, and as the Assembly man, I urge various stakeholders not to take this issue lightly. I am very shocked by this incident because I never thought it could happen. I am following up on this case keenly. I urge the Police Service to take up this matter and thoroughly investigate it. The punishment handed out to the culprits should serve as a deterrent to others."
The Police say they are on a manhunt to arrest other members of the gang, while investigation into the incident continues.

The Police Public Relations Officer, Bayelsa State Police Command, Asinim Butswat who confirmed the incident, said investigation had already commenced determine the exact cause of his death.
He said, "It has not been established whether he was poisoned or not. At this point, we won't be able to establish whether he was poisoned and who poisoned him."
"But we will look at the people he was with the previous night before the incident. By the time we carry out a post-mortem investigation, that will determine what substance actually led to his death. The investigation is ongoing."

an abducted victim in Abia State last week.“In the course of the shootout, some of the kidnappers sustained injuries and were overpowered,” Abia police spokesperson, Geoffrey Ogbonna, told PREMIUM TIMES in response to an enquiry about the video which was obtained by Sahara Reporters.
Mr. Ogbonna, a deputy superintendent of police, put the number of the suspects at ‘over seven’ and vaguely identified the victim as a 76-year-old man with a history of hypertension.
The victim was rescued but later died at the hospital, having allegedly been tortured by the kidnappers in their den, Mr. Ogbonna said.
The officers recovered AK-47 guns, ammunition, and three vehicles from the suspects.

Mr. Ogbonna evaded PREMIUM TIMES’ questions about why the officers shot the suspects in the testicles after overpowering them as reported by Sahara Reporters.
He also could not defend the snide remarks the officers uttered to the wounded suspects.
He also did not say how many of the suspects died —if at all— and whether those seriously wounded where receiving medical care.
The footage surfaces amidst growing anger against the police which stemmed from widespread allegations rights abuses, extra-judicial killings and robbery attacks against citizens by officers.
Although most of the claims are directed against the Special Anti-Robbery Squad, which is a separate unit from the Intelligence Response Team that carried out the latest operation, rights activists see the gruesome shooting as common amongst all police officers.
“This is a clear case of torture and extra-judicial execution,” said Okechukwu Nwanguma of the Network on Police Reform in Nigeria, NOPRIN.
Mr. Nwanguma decried the unimaginable level of atrocities being
allegedly perpetrated by police officers every day in Nigeria,
considering that most of the gruesome abuses and execution hardly make
it to the public domain.“The duty of the police is to arrest, investigate and produce accused persons to court for fair trial,” Mr. Nwanguma said. “Executing crime suspects extra-judicially is both unlawful and criminal.”
He called on the police leadership and the Nigerian government to pursue a lasting solution to the horrific activities of officers before it is too late.
“The case underscores the need for the police hierarchy to demonstrate that they are serious about their promise to reform the institution,” said Mr. Nwanguma, whose organization has tracked numerous cases of abuses by the police for many years.
“Part of this reform would be to bring officers responsible for this and similar egregious violations to a public trial in order to send out a clear message that the police as an institution does not tolerate human rights atrocities,” he added.

The incident which occurred during the village Christmas carol also left about 10 other people injured.Confirming the incident in a statement, the spokesman for the Operation Safe Haven, Col. I.K. Ekpeyong, said the gunman invaded Godogodo village as the residents were holding a Christmas carol at the community square at about 9:00 p.m. and started shooting sporadically.
He said four persons were killed and eight others injured in the incident.
He said the bodies of the dead victims had been deposited in a mortuary while the wounded persons were taken to the Kafanchan general hospital for treatment.
He said: “Some people suspected to be masterminds of the attack have been arrested for further interrogation, while more troops have been deployed to the area to avert a fresh attack or reprisal.”
Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, in a statement issued by his spokesman, Samuel Aruwan, said: “The Kaduna State government has condemned the Friday night attack at Nindem village, Jema’a local government area.
“Security forces have informed the Kaduna State government that there was an attack in Nimdem village on the night of Friday, 22nd December 2017. The government was further briefed, that arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing."
“The government condemns this incident, and calls on all stakeholders to help uphold peace by working to avoid escalation and by supporting the security forces.”
